readycarver.org

Ready carver was a preexisting site that Creature Works had built a couple of years ago. As the staff at ready carver grew and evolved the goals of the site began to change and new priorities shifted to the foreground. Creature Works smartly realized the old site was not enough any more and some restructuring needed to be done.  The staff at readycarver.org agreed and without doing much in the lines of redesign the site was rebuilt and restructured to match the new goals and priorities. The site features a homepage built to showcase important emergency preparedness events and get people the news they need quickly. The site is built on a custom .php backend and has the foundation of a responsive web design site so it can be easily expanded to mobile platforms in the future.

jessicascakes.com

Jessica’s Cakes is a site that truly was a mixture of personal and artistic inspiration,  a strong understanding of the user’s goals and a way to solve many problems for a client who was looking for solutions and a sense of band. Though not explicitly part of the design process I encouraged Jesse Hughes my coworker at Creature Works to imagine a site that truly portrayed Jessica and her very special desserts. The final design seemed daunting in some ways as this site was to be fully integrated into a WordPress CMS and I knew to make it look as organic as it needed to be, Jesse and I would have to be on our A game. Fortunately when when the flour settled we had a product that fit Jessica’s Cakes like a glove, integrated her blog, her beautiful cakes and the very important from-scratch feel that makes Jessica’s Cakes very special.

carverscottship.com

Carver and Scott counties approached Creature Works with the need for a site to promote the Statewide Health Improvement Program. Working as a member of the Creature Works team and a design theme by Jesse Hughes I added some design elements for sub-pages before doing the front-end development including XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript using the Jquery library. The homepage slider degrades gracefully by using ajax to pull other versions of the homepage if JavaScript is disables.

cabinfevermn.com

Cabin Fever Sporting Goods was stuck with a half-finished web site and needed a way to promote their unique services in the Twin Cities west metro. Working with a design by Riley Eastman and some Ruby development for the custom content management system by my friend James. I was responsible for the wire frames, structure, content aggregation and front-end development using HTML 5, JavaScript and CSS for both the main site and the Ruby on Rails powered admin panel.

sureflexfibers.com

SureFlex Fibers and StoneLight Laser are a tandem pair of micro-sites I designed and built in the summer of 2009 as part of while working with American Medical Systems. The goal here was to provide a quick and useful set of information sites for doctors considering holmium laser products for kidney and bladder stones as well as solutions for benign prostate hyperplasia.
